OFF ROAD BASICS

At Wrong Side of the River Jeeps we do our best to outline everything we might encounter on the trails before we head out for an adventure.

SO LETS GET STARTED

NEVER WHEEL ALONE!

I cannot stress this enough. Whether you are a seasoned wheeler, or just starting out, never wheel alone! Wheeling can be dangerous and you may find your rig with a catastrophic break leaving you stranded on the trail. Cell service isn't a given and can make a nice day turn into a stressful situation.

Damage .jpg

YOU'RE GOING TO SCRAPE THE UNDERSIDE OF YOUR JEEP

It's a fact unfortunately, even on the beginner trails you will feel some scraping. Don't worry its completely normal, and will become less as you learn more about your vehicle.

 LISTEN TO YOUR SPOTTER!

A great spotter will help you through the obstacles with as little scraping as possible! They have you and your jeep's best interests at heart!

ALWAYS HAVE A FULL TANK OF GAS BEFORE HEADING OUT

Always a safe practice to get into, so you never have to worry about running out mid-trail. Or worst case, having issues on the trail making a day last longer then first expected.

AIR DOWN

What's airing down you ask?

It's letting air out of your tires to absorb some of the bumpiness of the trails. It provides better traction on rocks and mud.

We normally, as group, set our tires anywhere from 9 PSI - 15 PSI

TREAD LIGHTLY

Tread lightly is such a good, easy practice to get into.

At WSOTR we do this by a few simple practices. Sticking to the designated trail, outlined by OF4WD, making sure to never leave any garbage and always take in what we brought in.  This allows us to not only save the environment, by leaving no damage/trash but preserve our trails for generations to come.
